Hoax Alert! Woman DID NOT say Michael Jackson's Ghost Molested Her Kids

  • by: Alan Duke

A fake report that a Dallas, Texas, woman is blaming Michael Jackson's ghost for molesting her children is trending on Facebook and other social platforms again. An identical report began trending two years ago and has resurfaced several times as hoax news publishers recycle their greatest fake hits.

The name used in the story is the same as a woman who is on the Texas sex offender registry for a 1999 sex abuse conviction, but that real woman is white and the hoax story uses a mugshot of a black woman.

"I love that Thriller album," Brown said. "But when I'd play Thriller the kids would start crying like somebody was beating them and I wondered what that was about. Now I know Michael Jackon's ghost was molesting them. People say Michael touched kids when he was alive, so why wouldn't he do it when he dead? I hope police hire the Ghost Busters to catch Michael Jackson and lock his ghost away forever. I know they got devices for locking up ghosts so they can't escape."

Lead Stories' Trendolizer system detected the latest version as trending Thursday, August 25, 2016. See the tracking chart below.

Lead Stories can confirm that the story is NOT TRUE.

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. He was acquitted on all charges of sex abuse children in a trial in Santa Barbara County, California, several years earlier. There are NO credible reports of a Texas woman claiming her children were abused by the pop icon's ghost.
