Fake News: Muslim Refugees Did NOT Block Transportation in Protest of Trump Presidency

  • by: Maarten Schenk

Several known fake news websites posted the same article titled "MUSLIM "REFUGEES" LAY ON THE GROUND, BLOCKING TRANSPORTATION IN PROTEST OF TRUMPS PRESIDENCY...HOW WOULD YOU RESPOND?". However the article below that title has nothing to do with President Trump or refugees blocking transportation. It starts:

"Muslim refugee riots ignored in U.S. media blackout," By Leo Hohmann, WND,
Europe's model of multiculturalism goes up in flames
Bookstore in Stockholm suburb had its windows smashed by rock-throwing refugees. Cars were torched and buildings burned but a media blackout is in place in the U.S., which plans to step up its own importation of Muslim refugees under President Barack Obama's recently announced plan

Sweden, seen by many American progressives as the model of multiculturalism and tolerance, has erupted into an orgy of violence as gangs of rioting immigrants took to the streets for a fifth consecutive night Tuesday in Stockholm.

As you can clearly see the article talks about President Barack Obama and also mentions Leo Hohmann as the author. It seems these sites did a major copy paste job of a 2015 article from World Net Daily about riots that took place in Sweden without even bothering to change the details. They even stole a photo caption about a bookstore with smashed windows and didn't actually import the photo that went with it.

The picture used on social media if you share the fake story also has nothing to do with Trump or America:

It is a picture taken from another 2015 article (from the Mail Online) about a group of refugees that tried to storm the tunnel linking France and England.

From the Trendolizer graph at the end of this article it seems clear that the actual article behind a headline and a photo doesn't matter anymore in fake news circles. People seem willing to share anything without even clicking and reading it first. If you notice anyone spreading the rumor around you can help by pointing them to this article here because nobody likes being made a fool by fake news.
