Rob Halford IS NOT Joining AC/DC As Lead Singer

Fact Check

  • by: Jeremy Smith

Last week it was reported that the lead singer of AC/DC, Brian Johnson, had cancelled the band's current "Rock or Bust" World Tour due to possible total hearing loss. Now the trolls are spreading NOT TRUE stories about who is "replacing" Johnson. There are many hoax stories out there but this particular story takes the cake for hardcore religious bashing and irresponsible journalism.

The NOT TRUE story purports that Rob Halford, of Judas Priest fame, is replacing Brian Johnson on AC/DC's current tour. Right off the bat the story goes for the religious jugular "Earlier this week, Brian Johnson was ordered to stop touring as lead singer of the satanic metal band, AC/DC".

The story goes on to state:

The name emerging as most prominent to replace Johnson, according to original AC/DC Drummer, Chris Laid, is that of Judas Priest singer, Robert Halford. Halford, whose own band is drying out after years of drugs and touring, is free to do the singing. He's filled in for dinosaur rocker bands in the past, most famously with The Black Sabbaths, when their singer at the time, Ronnie Doi, quit in a hissy fit over a second billing at some hippie festival.

If you believe this story, you got another thing coming. They can't even spell Ronnie James Dio's name correctly. We won't bother you with any further explanation as to why this story is a HOAX. Rockers, rest easy; you won't be getting a DC/Priest mashup. AC/DC has cancelled the tour.
