Fact Check: Photos Of Unmasked ICE Agent Involved In Renee Nicole Good Shooting In Minneapolis Are NOT Real -- Grok Made Them Grok Made It

Are photos of an unmasked ICE agent purportedly involved in the shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis real? No, that's not true: The ICE agent seen in the images was not recorded without a mask before or after Good was fatally shot on January 7, 2026. The unmasked images were created by the Grok AI tool using screenshots of a video of the agent wearing a mask.

Several versions of the photos appeared on social media, including in a post (archived here) published by the @LucasSa56947288 account on X on January 7, 2026, with a caption that read:

Hey Folks! This is the ICE Nazi Agent who killed Renee Nicole Good in cold blood in Minneapolis! Has anyone seen this guy?

This is what the photo looked like at the time of writing:

This X account acknowledged in the caption that the image was created by Grok, the X.com AI tool:

I asked Grok to remove his mask. This is what they came up with. #MinneapolisICEShooting

Lead Stories could find no video or photos from the scene of this ICE agent without a mask. We did find video used in news reports showing the same person wearing a mask, standing in the same location, and making the same pointing gesture.
