Fact Check: Video Of U.S. Marshals Confiscating A Lamborghini From A Somali Daycare Owner Is NOT Real -- Made By Sora AI Tool AI-Generated

Did a video document U.S. Marshals confiscating a Somali daycare owner's Lamborghini? No, that's not true: This video is AI-generated. A Sora watermark appears in different positions on the frame throughout the video.

One copy of the video (archived here) was published on X by @its_The_Dr on Jan. 13, 2026. It is captioned:

How funny is this?

In the screenshot (pictured above) the watermark of the Sora tool from OpenAI (archived here) is visible on the left side of the frame. Under the word Sora is the handle of the person who first prompted the AI to generate the scene, @rebuiltauto. In the lower right corner is the handle of a user, @equipro2, who reposted the video (archived here) on TikTok on Jan. 9, 2026.

Sora watermarks typically appear in several different positions during playback of the AI-generated video. This may be an effort to prevent the watermark's removal through cropping. This can also help to ensure the watermark is visible if some areas of the video happen to be the same color as the watermark.
