Fact Check: Posts Saying Netflix Announced 'Till The End' Series Directed By Joe Berlinger Are NOT Real -- Spam From Vietnam Viet Spam

Did Netflix announce a "Till the End" series directed by Joe Berlinger to explore the lives of at least 62 celebrities? No, that's not true: The false claims originated from AI-generated articles and posts created by a spam operation managed from Vietnam. Fake fan pages are used to target North American and European Facebook users with nearly identical posts using AI-generated images and naming dozens of celebrities.

Among the false posts Lead Stories found is a post (archived here) published by the Rhythm Society Facebook page on April 28, 2026. It read:

NETFLIX ANNOUNCES "Till the End: The Boy George Story" -- A Cultural Icon of Music and Identity
Netflix has officially announced a bold and captivating six-part limited series titled "Till the End," directed by award-winning documentarian Joe Berlinger. The project explores the life of Boy George -- the trailblazing artist whose influence on music, fashion, and culture reshaped an era.

The caption continued:

With a production budget of $65 million, the series blends rare archival footage, candid interviews, and immersive storytelling to reveal the man behind the global icon. Each episode follows his journey -- from his early days in London's vibrant club scene to becoming the unmistakable voice of a generation.
Beyond fame, the series delves into personal struggles, reinvention, and artistic evolution. It highlights themes of identity, self-expression, resilience, and transformation in the face of public scrutiny.
Boy George's story reflects his artistry -- fearless, unconventional, and unapologetically authentic.
"I've always believed in being exactly who you are," he says. "That's where the real power lies."
Filmed across London, New York, and key cultural landmarks, Till the End becomes a vivid portrait of individuality and lasting influence.

A Google search (archived here) for "Netflix 'Till the End' Berlinger" returned only examples of the fake posts and no credible reporting that Netflix made such an announcement.

The Vietnam connection is significant, since fact-checkers, including Lead Stories, have identified a major source of AI-generated false stories coming from a single operation based in that Southeast Asian country. Recent reporting and fact checks mentioning that country are available here.

Lead Stories has published a primer -- or a prebunk -- on how to identify these kinds of fake posts exported from Vietnam. It is titled "Prebunk: Beware Of Fake Fan Pages Spreading False Stories About Your Favorite Celebrities -- How To Spot 'Viet Spam.'"
