Fact Check: DOJ Did NOT Get Warrant To Seize Adam Schiff's Financial Records Or Suspend His Passport -- There's No Record Of 'Cash Grift' Case Satire Roots

Did the Department of Justice issue a warrant to seize Sen. Adam Schiff's financial records or suspend his passport over alleged U.S. House January 6 Committee cash grifts? No, that's not true: The story originated on a Facebook page known for its satirical content, which carries the warning "Nothing on this page is real." The original image supporting the claim is also stamped with a warning label that says "Satire."

The claim appeared in a post and image (archived here) by the @HazelMoore32 account on X on May 19, 2026. It read:

🚨ADAM SCHIFF JUST GOT SLAMMED WITH A DOJ WARRANT -- THEY'RE SEIZING HIS FINANCIAL RECORDS OVER THE J6 COMMITTEE CASH GRIFT AND SUSPENDING HIS PASSPORT TO STOP HIM FROM FLEEING THE COUNTRY!

After months of asking politely, the Department of Justice has now obtained a full warrant to raid Schiff's dirty financial records.

'The DOJ has a right to investigate the January 6 Committee to see if it was influenced by financial gain,' said 4th Circuit Magistrate Joe Barron. 'Mr. Schiff has thirty days to comply.

'The State Department has already moved to suspend his passport -- because apparently even they know this corrupt weasel might try to run rather than face the music. The man who turned the January 6 'witch hunt' into his personal money-making machine is finally being dragged into the light. No more hiding behind Congress. No more fleeing to foreign soil.

This is what accountability looks like when the tables finally turn.

SHARE THIS BEFORE THE MEDIA AND SCHIFF'S LAWYERS TRY TO BURY ANOTHER DEMOCRAT CORRUPTION BOMBSHELL!

The claim originated on the satirical Facebook page America's Last Line of Defense (ALLOD) (archived here) run by Christopher Blair, a self-described liberal with a documented history of creating fake content to trick conservatives into sharing it. The page states: "Nothing on this page is real":

The original

The claim originated in a post (archived here) on the ALLOD page on Facebook on Jan. 12, 2026. It read:

After months of asking politely for Adam Schiff's financial records, the Department of Justice has obtained a warrant to seize them.

'The DOJ has a right to investigate the January 6 Committee to see if it was influenced by financial gain,' said 4th Circuit Magistrate Joe Barron, 'Mr. Schiff has thirty days to comply.'

The State Department has also moved to suspend his passport, in case he decides it would be better to flee than face the music.

The image was also stamped with a disclaimer, saying "America's Last Line of Defense. Satire. S. Nothing on this page is real." The label is circled in red below:

The disclaimer was cropped off the social media post on X.

Lead Stories searched Google News (archived here) and Yahoo News (archived here) and did not find any matching reports from evidence-based news outlets containing the words: "Adam Schiff" and "DOJ warrant." If the DOJ had issued such a warrant, major news organizations would have reported it as part of ongoing coverage of the clash between Schiff and President Donald Trump.

Schiff, was a U.S. House Member on the J6 committee. The California Democrat was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2025 and continues to be a critic of President Donald Trump. Schiff has never been charged by the DOJ with any crime. Trump has encouraged the DOJ to investigate (archived here) Schiff over claims he directed leaks of classified information about Trump. Trump has also accused Schiff of mortgage fraud and encouraged investigation of that claim.
