Fact Check: Video Does NOT Show Chanting, Clapping, And Drumming Protesters In Belfast Germany

Was a video of a crowd of people chanting, clapping, and drumming recorded in Belfast during the June 2026 anti-immigrant protests? No, that's not true: The clip had been online since May of that year. The original caption said it showed soccer fans in Germany.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here and here) published on X by @KDJRadioShow on June 11, 2026. It opened:

Earlier today in Belfast. Western civilization is healing itself. #GodBlessIreland

This is what the attached video looked like on X at the time of writing:

The post implied the video was related to the situation in Belfast. Around the time of the post's publication, that city in Northern Ireland faced violent anti-immigrant riots following an attempted beheading of a local man caught on camera.

However, the clip predated those events of June 2026.

On May 17, 2026, the same video was published on Facebook (archived here) and TikTok (archived here). The latter post included a location: the SchücoArena stadium in Bielefeld, Germany (archived here). It also contained a series of hashtags clearly linking the footage to soccer fans:

The Arminia Bielefeld team indeed played a match (archived here) on that day at their home stadium SchücoArena, winning against Hertha Berlin. The soccer club also posted about its victory on Facebook (archived here).
