Does a viral video show people trying to enter the Spanish city of Ceuta from Morocco in August 2026? No, that's not true: The video is older than that, showing an event that began in late July. It has been online since at least July 31, 2026.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here and here) on X published by @TRobinsonNewEra on Aug. 18, 2026. It opened:
IT'S AN INVASION. A 'second wave' of migrants attempting to cross the border from Morocco into the sovereign Spanish enclave of Ceuta. Only @vox_es can put a stop to this insanity.
This is what a screenshot of the video attached to the post looked like on X at the time of writing:

The post implied that the shared clip documented a new wave of migrants entering the Spanish city of Ceuta. It tagged a social media account belonging to Vox (archived here), a far-right party in Spain (archived here).
Ceuta faced a sudden influx of people trying to cross into it from Morocco (archived here) at the end of July and the beginning of August 2026. In mid-August 2026, a Moroccan state broadcaster reported (archived here) that nearly 300 people trying to enter that Spanish town were arrested.
However, the video does not show the events of August 2026. It has been online since at least July 31, 2026, when it was published on Instagram (archived here, here and here):
