Is a viral video of a man climbing onto the roof of a moving car and then crashing into a truck real? No, that's not true: The clip originated from an account that publishes AI-generated content. The video contained inconsistencies pointing to AI.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here and here) published on X by @BricxNews on Aug. 21, 2026. It opened:

The 15-second clip claimed to document a fatal stunt: A driver climbs to the top of a moving car, but as he looks into the camera filming from another moving vehicle, his car crashes into a truck.
The video, however, was initially uploaded (archived here) to the internet earlier that day by an account that publishes AI-generated content on Instagram. The original post displayed a disclaimer:

The clip reviewed in this fact check contained several hallmarks of AI. For example, at the moment of impact, the driver's arm seems to penetrate the back of the truck:
