Does a video show a bullet "jumping in and out" of the body of Times Square stabbing suspect after she was shot by NYPD officers? No, that's not true: The shiny object in the video has been identified by a weapons training expert as a barbed probe from a Taser 7 cartridge. At a press conference, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said, "Multiple officers discharged Tasers which proved to be ineffective and the subject continued to advance towards our officers with the knives."
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the account @iCanHasThunk on X on Sept. 1, 2026. It read:
There was a stabbing in New York linked to the killing of a Bank of America VP. Watch the blood appt [sic] on the woman's shirt. You can see the bullet jumping in and out of her body while they cuff her. Not to mention the fake cabs I pointed out in my last post. Weird, huh?

The image above was taken from bystander footage that shows the fatal shooting of Pamela Cisneros by NYPD officers on Aug. 31, 2026. The @iCanHasThunk post also includes a 17-second video clip alongside the still image. It is a slow-motion replay of 2.44 seconds of the bystander footage. The progress bar of the source clip shows 4 seconds, but the slow-motion replay begins 1.56 seconds in. The selected footage shows only the moments after Cisneros was shot and hit the ground but omits the footage from before Cisneros was shot, when the Tasers were discharged.
The bystander footage was posted by @justicierope on X on Aug. 31, 2026. It is 2 minutes, 51 seconds and carries a "Sensitive Content" warning screen (archived here). In this footage it is possible to see other Taser probes and wires, one stuck in her purse (pictured below).

Lead Stories reached out by email to Artur Sadowski, founder of Police Weapons Training and Consulting LLC, for help identifying the shiny object. He responded the same day, Sept. 2, 2026:
Its [sic] not a bullet, its [sic] the probe from a Taser 7 cartridge as seen from the top photo in the attached. The barbed, dart portion is inside her shirt/skin, and the rest of rhe [sic] probe casing contains the spooled wire that connects the probe to the Taser.
