Fact Check: Trump Did NOT Post To Truth Social Already Declaring Victory In The Midterms And Saying Counting Ballots Is 'Wasting Time' Faux Trump Msg

Did President Donald Trump post to Truth Social, already declaring victory in the 2026 midterms and saying counting ballots is "wasting time"? No, that's not true: A review of Trump's Truth Social account found no record of the post. No established news outlets had reported that his account shared the message at the time of publication.

The claim appeared in a post (archived here) by the @slem63 account on X on Oct. 26, 2026. It read:

Trump is already declaring a COMPLETE REPUBLICAN SWEEP of the 2026 midterms -- before the votes have even been counted! Now he's saying ANY Democratic victory should be challenged and putting the Supreme Court on notice. Is this seriously where we're at in America?!

This is what the post looked like on X at the time of publication:

The text in the post read:

Why are we wasting time counting ballots? Everybody already knows the Republicans WON the 2026 midterms in a historic landslide! ALL 50 STATES!

I am officially declaring victory for EVERY Republican candidate right now. Every Senate seat, every House seat, every governor's race. The Democrats can count all they want, but it won't change the fact that we won.

If the Democrats claim to have won even one race, we will immediately contest the results. Every state, every county, every vote. I have already put the United States Supreme Court on notice. They better be prepared, because we will not accept anything less than a complete Republican victory!

We won everything. A total landslide. The biggest midterm victory in American history! Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Under the U.S. Constitution not all Senate seats are up for election in a single midterm cycle, making a sweep of 'every Senate seat' impossible.
